When I was an undergraduate, I loved the theater. I
loved the excitement of being onstage, especially when I had a starring
role. After a while, however, I realized that doing a good
job in a supporting role, helping the real stars look good, was often
a lot more fun than being center stage myself.
Well, all the world's a stage, says Shakespeare, and on the
great stage of the world also, I usually have the most fun doing a good
job as a supporting character in other people's plays. Here are are
